Early start today with a 5am appointment at Schnuks Distribution. I wasn't sure whether they had overnight parking or not here so I parked at Loves just 9 miles away last night.
When I got here they have a big parking lot with overnight parking just outside the gates. Good to know for next time I'll be around.
Unloading was quick and expensive, in good Capstone style. At least the expensive part. $354 to unload.
Now I'm waiting for the paperwork which seems to take longer than the unloading.
The opening hours had changed here at Anthony's so I came to closed doors. I wasn't the only one. Another Knight truck called me up on the cb and told me they changed their hours so I just parked and went to sleep.
Around 4:30 I woke up to knocking on my door, half asleep i worked myself out of the bunk and handed over the bills to the gentleman outside. Got a door right there. Backed in and went back to sleep. Around 8:30 they were done and I could leave.
Now just gonna get some breakfast then head over to Mars in Joliet IL for a load over to Missouri.
Picked up a banana load from Port Manatee in Palmetto FL Thursday afternoon, then used the remaining hours and drove 75 up north across the Georgia stateline and took my night at the flying J on exit 2.
Started early next day, but my day was limited by the 70 hour limit so I had only 7 hours to drive. It was just enough to get me up to the Pilot at Mounteagle in Tennessee. I shut down there around 1500 and drove the rest of my trip the next day.
Before heading up to Anthony Marano in Chicago I stopped to meet my wife that came to meet me and to bring Pandora home. A couple of hours later I was on my way up to Chicago and now I'm here ending my trip.
It was good with a few hours at home before heading down here to pickup this load at interstate warehousing in Hamilton oh. Next is delivery at Walmart in Gas City in. Also had the stupid smartdrive camera installed yesterday.
Delivered a load from Tyson in Lexington Nebraska to Tyson in Emporia Kansas Friday morning, went up the to Kansas City yard to sleep cause my next load was picking up from Lineage Edwardsville on Friday afternoon. Switched to a better trailer at the Kansas yard and headed down to Lineage around noon. Its so close so I drove down there early to check in and to drop my trailer. Once I was there I decided to stay attached to the trailer and wait,
I didnt receive no phone calls about door numbers so I decided to check in again to see if there was any updates, then I was told they were out of products needed for my load and it had been rescheduled to Monday. Now I got a little nervous cause I gotta be home by 25th. Called the dispatch in Phoenix and texted my DM. Went back to the KC yard and shortly after they tcalled a load going to Walmart here in Olney IL.
The bills were not here, and the driver didnt answer his phone. He didnt know they were gonna tcall his load so he left with the bills. To make on time delivery I had to get going anyway and hopefully they would fax new bills from the shipper to Walmart. I parked around 0200am at the local truckstop here in Olney called Red Rooster Truckstop. It was packed but I found a sketchy spot outside on the street. Woke up next morning, called dispatch about the missing bills and soon after gotten the fax number from Walmart the bills were sent and I checked in.
Woila! Trip completed.
My second load for OK foods down in Heavener OK yesterday totaly screwed my whole day. Waiting 8 hours before I was done loaded. Did and 8+2 split and left there around 1700. Drove most of the night, thru Little Rock and Memphis and pulled off to get some sleep a few miles down on 78 in Mississippi.
On my way down to Russelville yesterday afternoon I ran into problems with my weekly 70 hour limit again, I've been to busy with the previous loads so I made it to a rest-area in Ozark AR. Spent my night there and took of next morning the last 50 minutes to Russelville and did my delivery. A live unload, I could have dropped it but they only had a Kool Trans trailer and I didnt want it and I had no more loads that day either because of my 70.
Spent a few hours up on the Pilot in Russelville when my new driver manager called me with a load picking up in Forth Smith early next morning, there was no need to wait so I just left for Fort Smith. Now Im on the Pilot in Roland OK just off i-40. Customer is only 5 miles away from here
Next pickup will be in Heavener OK soon after the other then I'm of to Winter Gardens FL.
Spent the Friday night on a tiny pilot truckstop just outside of Miami. Started early this morning at 5am, now at my second break on a rest area in Georgia.
Three more hours left on my clock, will park early so I can start early again tomorrow
Delivery is 1700 at Walmart in Mankato MN on Monday.
Finally I'm able to make an update to my logbook again after several weeks with nothing. I had a few trips since my last update, then i headed home for one week hometime. Which was spent building a deck. Didn't quite finish, but will do next time.
I went back to work on the 27th, picked up a tcalled loaf from the Columbus yard and drove to Gordonsville VA and delivered same day.
Started out from Yuma AZ this morning with very little sleep due to Netflix watching and smartphone mania last night. Made my way almost to San Diego then I ran into some really slick roads, lots of melted snow that turned to ice and wet pavement that was frozen. It was the pass about 50 miles east of San Diego that was bad. Traffic was stuck and four wheelers where all over the place, but mostly in the ditch. Trucks were going slow and alot were stuck in the right lane so we passed them in the left. Traffic was probably moving around 10 mph at the most and it took forever. I was allready about 30 minute late for my delivere, but ended up with an additional hour.
Finaly down from the pass I ran into traffic, didnt really matter what route I picked from here cause it was traffic on all of them anyway. When I reached the customer things went pretty fast, checked in with receiving and waited a few minutes until they called me and gave me a door.
Unloading was a little slower, but its okay. Guess I was done after three hours or so, then I went down to the Pilot and parked.
Parked last night at Petro in Wells NV after driving from Hermiston and loaded up in Caldwell. Kinda boring place and no signal on my cellphone didn't make it any better. Watched TV, found four local channels with just crap except from one with an old family guy cartoon.
Woke up next morning, was expecting alot of snow because of the weather reports, but it was pretty good and the worst part wasn't starting before 11, so I had about three hours to get out of there.
Drove seven hours straight in strong winds, some rain and minor snowstorms when I finally arrived at Loves on the 93 and I15.
Had a forty minute break then rolled on down thru Vegas, then onto 93 south to Kingman where I found parking at TA.
Had a terrible night of sleep, truck ran out of battery. I started to idle then went back to bed, but 5 minutes later the idle alarm goes off and I have to get back up from the bed to either disable it or shut off the truck. Did this probably 3-4 times thru the night. I should just have let it idle thru the night instead. Woke up around 0800 more tired than before I went to bed.
Drove about 7 hours straight to Erick OK to fill up fuel and get some quick lunch which consisted of a danish pastry with raspberry and some kind of cream and a bottle of lemonade. The rain and thunderstorms were with me all the way from Springfield and down to Amarillo wherer I got tired and just wanted to shut down. I pulled of on exit 74 to Loves and parked. Now just sitting here, dont feel any tired of course so I might as well watch some Netflix before I finaly hit the bed.
SHowed up at Americold in Belvidere IL at 17:00 for my appontment, was done loaded and ready roll for Gas City IN aroun 20:00. It was very cold and raining. The combination of subzero degrees and rain was no fun, but didnt have any bad time with it except from one of the side roads on my way out of the shipper.
Once out on the freeway the roads were good and salty, could run like normal, but the sleep caught me and I stopped at Loves to grab something to bite and a coffe. Almost all they way from Chicago the rain poured down, the temperature got warmer to around 45. I pulled off on exit 172 in Lafayette IN and drove the rest on US 26 and 35 to Gas City. I arrived at the Marathon in Gas City around 2:30am local time.
I slept for about 3 hours then I went over to Walmart and completed my trip.
I was a little behind on this load due to the Last shipper in Nogales, but I'm now back on schedule. Less than 600 miles left means I will deliver to Anthony Marano on time somewhere between 1800 and midnight tomorrow in Chicago.
The day ends here at Knight Transportation in Atlanta, GA after my delivery at Walmart In Brundidge AL.
Started this morning a little later than usual from Birmingham AL, drove 3 hours down to Brundidge for my 13:45 appointment at Walmart. This load was supposed to be picked up in Russellville AR on Saturday, but it wasn't ready before right after midnight.
My next load will be picked up tomorrow at 2100 from Americold here in Atlanta and will be going to Rochelle IL.
Been a while since I posted, I've been quite busy with late loads and short trips, and I was hoping to get west this time. I finally got a load to Temple TX which is west, but home time is soon here so I need to get back as soon as I got here.
Delivery was at Walmart in Temple, TX. Now I'm at the Shelby cold storage in Amarillo picking up a load going to Forth Smith, AR.
Pickup time was 7 according to the message, but they don't open before 8. Good thing I drove up here last night after my sleeper birth and not waited until after midnight as suggested.
A slow start on my week at work. Spent pretty much the whole first day in the shop for a B service, but also got the front heater and my cracked windshield fixed.
First load was delivered late at Armada in Greecastle PA so spent my whole day at the receiver next day waiting for a door.
Now on my third day in Mechanicsburg PA waiting to get loaded here at QPSI. This was supposed to be picked up yesterday, but I arrived this morning at 07:00 like planned so it's good. Going to Johnson & Johnson in Mooresville IN.
Finally at my destination and ready for delivery tomorrow morning then I'm heading home once I found a place to drop the trailer. Most likely 90 miles the opposite way to the Indy yard ugh...
Then I'm home for a week, lots of stuff to do unfortunately lol
Made it to Flying J in Mandan ND. Mandan was founded in 1879 and is the eight largest city in North Dakota with a population of 18300.
The city was named after the historic Mandan indians in the area.
By making it here tonight means I'm on schedule for on time delivery at Walmart on wednesday. Even though I should have had my hometime started on Tuesday because of my dentist appointment on Wednesday.
We'll see how it goes, having it tcalled would be perfect.
Was a short day today, my 70 hour limit is on my back again. Drove about 5-6 hours from Petro Spokane to Town Pump/Flying J here in Butte.
About halfway, just after Wallace ID it started to snow and cover up the roads in the mountain area, but got soon better once I was down on the other side.
Tomorrow will be better, I'm gaining a full 11 hour and hopefully I'll make it to Flying J in Mandan ND.
Long day today, started early to drive 3,5 hours up to Bluebird in Peshastin WA to load a few pallets of pears, then back down Kershaw Fruit in Yakima WA to load apples.
Now I'm a couple hundred miles east at Petro on i-90. Pretty tired. Just had a boring subway meal.
The next few days will only be driving to get the fruit to Wal-Mart in Gas City IN, then home.
On my way back west now to Fontana California with a load I picked up in Amarillo from another driver. We just switched trailers, he didn't wanna go west and I didn't wanna go east just yet.
Now having my break at my watering hole here at the Flying J in Kingman AZ. I've got about 5 more hours to drive today. No stress, it's still early.
Then I'm here, first pickup of a total of three going to be delivered in Philadelphia on Tuesday, but not my me. It will be relayed so I can go back west for a week more.
Next stop will be back in Nogales, then the last in Maricopa. About 130 miles the opposite way.
I'm back here again to try get this beef unloaded. Showed up at 8 like I was told to and waited for about 4 hours then they were ready. They were actually ready at the same time the other truck pulled in here so I guess that's the one taking it into Mexico. From what I understand when I talked to them yesterday was they had no way to keep it cool in their warehouse..
I've got to the consigne on time today, but didn't help much cause they couldn't unload before they got approval from the customs in Mexico. They speak pretty much only spanish where I was, but they had one guy there they used to translate. Now I'm at the Pilot just 5 miles away waiting until tomorrow, been here all day since 11:00am.
Been killing time on Netflix and internet and the new premium Wi-Fi they offer at pilot and flying j's is pretty good and worth the money. It's alot cheaper than the extra gigabyte att&t adds when you run out.
Had one long rest last night. Didn't start driving down here to Las Lunas before 15:30. My appointment was 18:30. Checked in about an hour before and got a door.
Now waiting for the buzzer to beep and get out of here. Will be loading in Las Cruces tomorrow morning, then I'll be heading to Memphis to switch trailers with another driver. My new load from Memphis goes back to Las Vegas.
I got my load to Frito Lay delivered and dropped, then I spent most of the day at the Knight Transportation yard in Salt Lake City.
Headed up to Logan to pick up my next load to Walmart in Las Lunas NM. On my way up there it was pitch black and heavy rain.
The shipper was great and very friendly, I told them I was out of hours and they told me to drop the trailer at the door and they would load it while I took my sleeper berth. Woke up next morning and I was ready to roll.
Started this morning at the Road Ranger in Brazil IN around 0900 and drove down to Troy IL to fuel up then finished my day here at this rest area just an hour east of Oklahoma City.
It was a good Sunday drive with 639 miles and three long breaks. Now it's time for my daily can food dinner.
Home time is getting closer, just a couple more days or two trips more and I'm home. Just delivered the Hershey load tonight and now outside Walmart doing my sleeper birth.
Picking up a preloaded trailer tomorrow from Fresh express going to Food Lion in Greencastle. It's just 62 miles, but they are paying me $200 for it which is pretty good.
Then back to Hershey to pick up a load to Mississippi, but it will be dropped at the Columbus yard. Then home!
Then we are here, but not on time. Appointment was 11:30 and we checked in 12:20. Now it's 15:15 still parked by the curb waiting for a door. The first impression of this place was great, friendly people and ready to check in and get done.
Earlier today we completed the long trip we had from Columbus to Sumner. We was done just in time for me to send in the paperwork so I can get paid for the trip this week. Costco was a nice place, but nothing more. No restrooms and no overnight parking. Just a 2 hour staging area.
The night before we parked at Wal-Mart in Auburn, just 7 miles up north on wa167. Unfortunately Wal-Mart there allows only short time parking like a couple of hours, so we moved over to the outlet parking lot across the street. I was out of hours so I couldn't get far.
After about an hour or maybe less security chased us of there too, but he was friendly enough to tell us about as place where we could park which was just a few hundred feets down the street behind Chevrons.
Then finally it was goodnight!
The pineapple load got me home after delivery at Kroger. They unloaded me pretty fast for a change and I was home around 1400. Had a good hometime as usual. Also got to see the whole third season of Bates Motel and was watching halfway through Helix season 2. On Sunday we celebrated Easter with our neighbors.
Monday morning I went back to Columbus, picked up the same trailer I left on Friday and headed over to Richs and loaded up a load to dunkin donuts in Westhampton NJ.
I delivered the load in NJ on time then headed down 95 and 70 to pick up a load for Nestle at Saputo Dairy in Frederick MD.
I arrived at Nestle tonight 30 minutes before my appointment time. At the door now with less than 10 minutes drive time left, but they have overnight parking here so I'm good.
Woke up at 0500am this morning for my first delivery in Houston, but was told to wait in the truck and they should let me know when they wad ready. At 0900am I was given a door. Couple of hours later I was empty and on my way to my next stop on the other side of the city.
I was of course late now, but got a door as soon as I got there. A couple of hours later I was done and headed to my third and last stop. No way I could make that appointment either, but I got there about 1,5 hour late. They were nice and friendly and got me at door immediately. Did my empty call and headed for the Katy yard to pick up a tcall going to Wal-Mart.
This load unfortunately didn't have many miles, but a little later they called me and asked if I wanted to go pick up a load at Del Monte in Galveston yo Columbus OH. Much more miles, of course I wanted that.
Now I'm at the harbor in Galveston waiting to enter the gates at 1100pm. So I have a few hours to kill. I've never been this far south in Texas before and it's beautiful down here.
Looks like the punishment for changing jobs have started, even before I've told them about my decision. Obviously they been contacted by my new employer. This week I've got lots of unpaid hours and just 5-600 miles. Delivering a load tomorrow morning at Walmart at 0800. Then loading at 1600 from Fort Wayne IN to Burlington NJ with delivery appoinment on the 22nd. Sounds great huh? 4 days to travel 650 miles.
Was hoping and planning on getting home on Wednesday which seems like hard right now. After my delivery in Milwaukee on Saturday I got a Walmart load from Milwaukee with two deliveries, one in Pennsylvania and the next one in New York. Now at the Pattersonville travel plaza on I90 waiting for my delivery appointment at 0400 tomorrow morning. Crossing my fingers for a load back to Ohio so I can get home in time. This is my 4th week and that's enough for me.
After some time in the south the cold up here feels really bad but I will get used to it. Today unloading at GFS. My next stop on this trip will be Walmart in Bedford PA. Hometime is also getting closers :)
Then I'm on my second and last delivery for this trip. Walmart DC in Clarksville AR. Was here early today so I spent a few hours in Russellville. Took a shower, had some dinner and played powerball. $800,000,000 in the jackpot tomorrow lol. Soon out of hours too so once I'm done here I will park at one of the independent truckstops just down the street. Goodnight!
Showed up at 1400 for my appointment at Walmart in New Albany. Checked in and got a door. This is the view from the truckers lounge they got here. It's actually just a small nasty bathroom. Pretty miserable!
I'm now at the Flying J in Matthews MO. Loaded up on Kraft in Champaign IL yesterday to Walmart in New Albany MS. Appointment time is 15:00 and I'm 4 hours away. No need to rush cause they won't let me in before an hour ahead of appointment time. Not so cold this morning, about 48F. Also got my last week's pay which is very frustrating. No wonder the trucking industry in this country is in lack of drivers when you actually gets more by working for a fast food chain!!
Went to a laundry place on mainstreet today to wash some very big items and Pandoras towels and blankets.
Merry Christmas everybody. I was home at 2pm yesterday and its all good. Will have four days home, then a few days local driving before I come home again for new years eve.!
Good morning, this is part of my breakfast, there was a youhurt too. Im not much of a big eater in the morning, so this is it. My load will be delivered tomorrow at Methuen MA, only 320 some miles left. Could have drove longer yesterday, but decided to park around 7:30pm here at Flying J on I95 exit 100.
My new load goes to Florida with a stop in North Carolina. I will be loading at Solutia in Springfield MA. When I got here I had to watch a video and pass a quiz to be able to enter. When I first got in it was pretty much like a new quiz to find my way through it all with no signs anywhere!
Started early this morning to get my 2 stop load to Macys in Cheshire CT, got lucky and was told to drop the trailer on my first stop. No empty reefers there so I went over to my second stop anyway to look and found the one in the picture. It was pretty messed up and dirty, but otherwise fine, no damages. Now sitting at the TA Southington playing the waiting game again!
Went to Walmart in Smyrna DE today, then bobtailed back to the Carlisle yard to pick up an preloaded trailer going to Macys in CE. Runned out of hours to get there in time so I pulled off to a rest area here on I84. Will start at 0500am in the morning. Good night!!
Finally got a load for tomorrow, had to ho to Macys in Secaucus NJ. Now back at the Petro Bordentown NJ for a trailer wash at the Blue Beacon.
