After six months with Pepsi oi was time to go back over the road again, but only regional this time. At least for now.
Got an older truck with about 400,000 miles on it, but that don't matter cause it's a Volvo with ishift.
Spent the first two evenings in it cleaning all the oily fingerprints from whoever had it before me and trying to clean out the odor and at this point I'm pretty happy with the results. No odor and just a few stains left that I'll take care of on my next hometime.
I'm supposed to be home every weekend, but the paychecks will decide so I'm trying that for a few weeks now and see how that goes.
Currently at Kroger with my late ice cream load waiting for a door and cooking some pasta dinner.
My hometime this year for Christmas got longer than expected due to the extraction of three wisdom's teeth. It was absolutely my worst dentist appointment ever.
I was at home for a week longer than planned due to the enormous pain I had, but Tuesday January 3rd I had to go back for work. Lost enough money already.
Went and did my road ready service in Columbus then got a trip from Troy OH to Casa Grande AZ. Just perfect. Now on the 7th I feel my jaws aching less and hopefully soon the 800mg ibuprofens are no longer Necessary.
Just arrived, but two hours late. No problem, load was not even ready. Waiting at the dock now.
Dropped the other load this morning at Kraft, stopped by my terminal after to pick up some new trip sheets and a trailer.
Will be shutting down here at the rest area just about an hour east of Columbus. Will deliver early tomorrow, appointment is 15:30, but it's just a drop so I should be good. Maybe time to stop by at home tomorrow after loading in Troy.
Got a late delivery appointment yesterday to Dunkin Donuts for a change. Took my sleeper birth at Bensalem and ordered a pizza. Now at Kraft foods in Allentown to load for Groveport OH.
The receiver is horrible, been there before. May wait up to 12 hours, sometimes more and they don't tell you when your trailer is done unloaded.
Delivery is tomorrow, then of to Troy OH to load for Casa Grande AZ.
It got late fast last night. After working myself through two accidents in North Carolina things got better, at least a few hours. Drove I77 north through Charleston and up to I70.
Had a 5 minute break at the last rest area before Columbus, then I continued towards Springfield when I ran into the third accidents (picture) on this trip. This one was really bad. Got stuck on the freeway for three hours without moving an inch. I fel asleep for an hour or so during that time.
It started moving again around 5am and I arrived at the shipper around 6. Slept two more hours on the shoulder, then woke up little before 8 and did my delivery.
Now I'm waiting to finish my ten hour break so I can pick up my next load to Dunkin Donuts NJ.
Pine apples from Costa Rica to Columbus OH. The ship came in around 2200 and I checked in at 2330. Since all the pine apples has to be unloaded and inspected by US government its needless to say I was too early and my midnight appointment were going to be rescheduled. I went back to the truck parking lot on 33rd street which was a big unorganized mess, to sleep a few hours while I waited.
At 0400 they called me and I could come back and get loaded, sitting in line now waiting for a door at Del Monte.
