As you can see from the picture Im back at the Knight Terminal in Columbus. My time with Pepsi is officially over. The people working at the Dayton Pepsi plant were all good guys and there were alot of fun going on in the mornings, but the kind of work was not for me. I did however try hard for 6 months to stay there. Being home with family evey night was the only good part about it, but for now its back to Knight trying to do some regional driving that will take me home every weekend.
The day ends here at Knight Transportation in Atlanta, GA after my delivery at Walmart In Brundidge AL.
Started this morning a little later than usual from Birmingham AL, drove 3 hours down to Brundidge for my 13:45 appointment at Walmart. This load was supposed to be picked up in Russellville AR on Saturday, but it wasn't ready before right after midnight.
My next load will be picked up tomorrow at 2100 from Americold here in Atlanta and will be going to Rochelle IL.
Got my 1 year anniversary gift from Knight today! Time goes so fast.
Looks like the punishment for changing jobs have started, even before I've told them about my decision. Obviously they been contacted by my new employer. This week I've got lots of unpaid hours and just 5-600 miles. Delivering a load tomorrow morning at Walmart at 0800. Then loading at 1600 from Fort Wayne IN to Burlington NJ with delivery appoinment on the 22nd. Sounds great huh? 4 days to travel 650 miles.
Well then I'm back home again after a pretty short and miserable day at work. I woke up together with my wife this morning and was getting everything ready for another 3 weeks on the road. It all started well, managed to find a pretty new empty trailer at the yard in Columbus too. Went to the Cloverfield Cold Storage and got loaded for Dunkin Donuts in NJ. Halfway through the load I got a phone call that I had to bring my loaded trailer back to the yard, another driver needed it cause he was going home. I went back to the yard and dropped my trailer and started waiting for a new load. After a couple of hours I got a new load with same shipper and same receiver, but appointment next day.
In the Columbus yard now waiting for my 7am appointment in the morning. Loaded up at Merchandise Warehousing in Indianapolis. Also did my 50,000 miles road check today.
Now at the Knight Transportation yard in Carlisle watching cartoons on tv. Have a preloaded trailer to Delaware in the morning. Then bobtail back.
