This week started bad with a trip to Walgreen in Windsor WI. I had an appointment at 1230 which of course destroyed the rest of my dat. This place sucks cause no matter when you get here your day is over. Took the rest of my night at a TA just two miles down the road. Next day I went to pick up a load from Kraft foods in Aurora to Dot foods in Mt Sterling.
After spending all Thursday afternoon and night at Dot foods I went over to the local gas station next morning to spend the whole Friday there. Later that day I got a load from JBS in Beardstown going to Fort Worth Texas with delivery Monday at 1600.
I drove down there which was just 15 miles, but the load was not ready and I waited for it about 12 hours.
Now I'm in Anna TX waiting for my 1600 appointment. This completes a week full of shit.
Waiting here at the Speedway, the closest place I could find to the shipper. My short trip load I wrote about yesterday got cancelled and I got a new and better going to Texas with three deliveries in Forth Worth. Much better and more miles, maybe I can save the week anyway.
My load appointment is tomorrow at noon so there is no rush and no need to go bed early or wake up early. Will be sitting here watching tv and read a book.
Looks like the punishment for changing jobs have started, even before I've told them about my decision. Obviously they been contacted by my new employer. This week I've got lots of unpaid hours and just 5-600 miles. Delivering a load tomorrow morning at Walmart at 0800. Then loading at 1600 from Fort Wayne IN to Burlington NJ with delivery appoinment on the 22nd. Sounds great huh? 4 days to travel 650 miles.
Well then I'm back home again after a pretty short and miserable day at work. I woke up together with my wife this morning and was getting everything ready for another 3 weeks on the road. It all started well, managed to find a pretty new empty trailer at the yard in Columbus too. Went to the Cloverfield Cold Storage and got loaded for Dunkin Donuts in NJ. Halfway through the load I got a phone call that I had to bring my loaded trailer back to the yard, another driver needed it cause he was going home. I went back to the yard and dropped my trailer and started waiting for a new load. After a couple of hours I got a new load with same shipper and same receiver, but appointment next day.
After Walmart I went down here to the TA in Fultonville NY to sleep, I was so tired and exhausted. Can't remember when I felt so bad before lol. Anyway after a few hours sleep, a shower, some food from McDonalds and some pain pills I felt better. Suddenly this truck backed in next to me, shortly after came a police officer and done some kind of DOT check on him. Checking the lights, horn, brakes, wheels and everything.
After some time in the south the cold up here feels really bad but I will get used to it. Today unloading at GFS. My next stop on this trip will be Walmart in Bedford PA. Hometime is also getting closers :)
I reached Houston today. Was 2 hours short on my hours last night. Appointment at 2100 so no need to rush cause they wouldn't let me in earlier than 2030 anyway. I checked in around that time and was done at 2am. Went a couple of blocks to Budweiser and picked up a preloaded trailer to Wichita Falls. Just parked now on a small shady truckstop across the street from the brewery called Texas truckstop.
Got here 1,5 hours before appointment, checked in with the guard and went around the building and delivered my paperwork. On my way back out to wait for my appointment they come after me and said they could unload me right now. Thats awesome, now just waiting for my paperwork which seems to take longer than the unload process lol :)
400 miles since Tuesday and sitting since Wednesday. Now I had a load this morning they took away from me because o/o were priority!!
Been sitting here at the TA in Bloomsbury since yesterday. Think I just passed 24 hours too. No load yesterday and nothing so far today! Hopefully something shows up soon cause this is boring and I'm not earning shit by sitting like this!
